Vintage F/W 1996/97 Runway Crucifix Mask ‘Dante’ Collection
Vintage F/W 1996/97 Runway Crucifix Mask ‘Dante’ Collection
Vintage Alexander Mcqueen by Simon Costin Fall Winter 1996/97 crucifix mask, from the Dante collection. The then rundown church was built by Nicholas Hawksmoor between 1714 and 1729 and McQueen delighted in the rumours that he had been a secret satanist. The setting, and particularly the accessories worn by the models added a disquieting provocative and subversive undercurrent to the show. Features pressed plastic mask covered in black polyester jersey, with a white painted metal crucifix attached with copper wires and secured with resin on the back. In good vintage condition.
